It’s a lazy Sunday here although my grocery order has been delivered and put away and another load of laundry is underway.   I had to wait for the grocery order to arrive in order to make coffee so waiting on that first cup of coffee to sip as I contemplate what I need to accomplish today.

One of the things I was thinking about this morning is I need to figure out what the next chart of the Prairie Schooler 12 Days of Christmas I want to start next.  This is the project that Judy and I started planning to stitch one chart every two months so we should have half of them done by the end of the year.   I’d like to get all of them done by the end of the year but because I have a bunch of other ornaments I want to make as gifts, I don’t think that will happen.  But deciding which one to stitch next and get a few stitches in it will help.   I’m ahead of schedule so to speak because I do already have two of them stitched but those are easy to pick up and put down when you just have a short time to stitch.  So which of the days do you think I should stitch next?  There’s only one I’m not particularly fond of and may make some changes to but I’m still thinking on that.

The other thing I want to pull out today and get in a project bag with it’s supplies are the sweater ornaments I plan to give as gifts.   I’ll be stitching these on perforated paper.

And here’s my progress on In HIS image as of last night.  I fell asleep in the afternoon for a short time and that really had me wide awake to the wee hours of the morning.  I think I finally stopped stitching sometime after 3AM.  Those kids were so much fun to stitch.  The first four from left to right, were as charted and then I added two more changing up hair style etc based off the others.   I’m stitching the word FAMILY to the right of the kids.

I stitched in the word Faith to the right of the church.  I found that “font” for the alphabet in the Ultimate Sampler Motif Source Book by Brenda Keys.  That’s also where the “Hope” font came from.

Here’s my overall progress so far.

The couple next to the house in the lower left I will be adding in that spot between house and tree.    The couple to the right of the church in the chart I will be adding to the right of the word Family.

The circle of flowers in the chart I’m going to leave off – but I will put the words in that circle “Made in the image of God” across the top of my chart.  Otherwise, the houses/trees etc. at the top of the chart I’m not going to add.     Once I get the larger couple to the right of where I’m putting Family in stitched,  I can figure out placement for the phrase and then decide on if I need to add some smaller motifs in to make things look balanced in certain areas.   There’s still a lot of stitching to be done in this piece because none of the buildings are filled in yet and I need to adjust and finish that border but I’m loving my progress so far.
