I’ve been stitching a couple reindeer today and just finished adding in the rein – which is pearl cotton and not floss – and my July Camp project is finished. If you remember the challenge for July Camp was to stitch something that you would finish in a different way other than in a picture frame.
This is not fully finished yet – and only the stitching had to be done before the end of July – but here it it sort of folded into how it will look across the center of the wooden ornament. Just as an idea of size – the wooden piece is 10″ in diameter and on the fabric I stitched on, the stitching is 1-3/4″ tall.
I think I already know what my August Camp project will be but plenty of time to change my mind about that one. August challenge is “something new to you” whether a new designer, fabric, type of floss, but I have a chart that combines a little wool applique with cross stitch so that is what I am thinking if I can find the color wool scraps I want in my fabric stash.
So now back to my Christmas in July stitching (which my Camp project fit into nicely). I have now made it to the very bottom of the chart on the right side of New Years Eve Sampler by Owl Forest Embroidery. Here’s the last photo I showed you
and here’s the additions I stitched last night below the train. I still have a few more things to fill in in that corner and give the elves a face, but the bell, tree and letter O are all at the very bottom of the chart.
