I couldn’t decide what I wanted to knit on last night. With two largish projects that I can’t start until midnight tonight! — Camp Loopy July and also the third quarterly KAL project or ESK — I really shouldn’t cast on anything new right?
Wrong – but it’s just a little project. I was actually just going to swatch a stitch that I really want to use in a sweater. But wanted to make sure I liked knitting the stitch. I love how it is turning out.
My sweater will not be in wildly variegated yarn like this – it will be nearly solid – but this was some leftover yarn that was right at hand and I do sort of like the way it looks. I decided to continue on with my “swatch” – I think I have enough to make a long enough strip for a cowl and then can just stitch the ends. The stitch is easy and makes a great edging – I can see it along the bottom, cuffs, up the front of a sweater other than a regular button band, as well as rows in between for added fun and texture. The edge of my swatch is sort of bent up in the these photos – I didn’t take time to make sure it was all fat but I really like the way it looks long the bottom edge – all scallopy.
I had to snap my photos quickly because even at 6a.m. this morning it was so hot and humid my glasses – and the camera lens – were steaming up the moment I walked outside.
