I’m participating in the ESK Yarnathon this year –
doing some of the projects and KALs. All projects need to be from ESK yarns but you can use your stash yarn from there so that makes things a bit easier on the budget…. maybe…. 🙂
I’ll be updating this page soon with the projects I’ve completed so far, badges earned, etc. You can participate in the Yarnathon anytime throughout the year, participate in your team thread on Ravelry if you wish. It’s been lots of fun so far and I’m getting projects made that meet the badge criteria as well as being items I want to knit. There are several badges I won’t even try for – I have no desire to knit a hexy or many hexies for instance – but so far I’ve been able to use a pattern/yarn I’ve wanted to use to match up with a badge.
It’s sort of based on the Candyland game and you progress your way up the board earning points for projects, earning stars, yardage purchased moves your along, etc. You have your individual statistics and then you also are assigned to a team and there are team rewards too.
There are the badge project but there are also quarterly KALs, special yarn dyed throughout the year pertaining to the Willa Wonka theme; candyland dyed themed colors and other fun flash challenges, trivia games and other fun things.
As of 7-16-17 – these are the badges I’ve collected so far – the colored-in ones.
