Christmas Town Sampler - A Collaboration Among Friends

Christmas Town Sampler – A Collaboration Among Friends

Re-edited to put back what WordPress mysterious ate when publishing this post…..

June is flying by and soon it will be that “Christmas in July” time of month.  Did you make the Christmas Town Sampler – A Collaboration Among Friends when Susan, Sheryl, Judy and I presented it last year as a mystery/blog hop project?  Did you get it finished?

Mine is not finished and it got packed up and set aside.  So my plan is to get it out and work on it during the month of July.  If you need to finish yours too, you’ll find moral support and encouragement here all during July. 🙂  I believe when I left off I still had two blocks for the border to make and then I can move on to the sashings and setting everything together.   My goal – to have the top completed by the end of July.  So that’s another reason why I need to stitch those blocks I currently have on the design walls into tops — I need to make room to put this one back up on the wall to figure out where I left off, and it takes up a lot of space.

  1. I’m pretty sure I have everything sewn, just need the assembly! Thanks for the encouragement. I will take you up on it and get mine assembled. I even have the backing.

  2. I have the centre part together and the house borders together but now I need to join the two. I had trouble with some of the blocks and it is a bit wonky but I am going to get it finished because I love the quilt design. I have to put a floater border between the two parts now. Houses and trees are two of my favourite quilt elements. Thanks for the encouragement.

  3. I love the border on this one, but I didn’t make it. I’m working on Comfort & Joy this year, though.

  4. I actually did finish! In a bag waiting to be taken for long arm… It was a lot of fun and I am actually keeping it for myself…a first really. Thanks so much for this project.

  5. What….you mean, get the thing loaded on the long arm and actually finish it…. I am afraid if it sees the light of day, I may have to hire security guards to see that it stays on the premises, it really has lots of bling from all the Christmas fabrics that I just couldn’t resist at Christmas time. It was a really fun pattern……

  6. I loved making this quilt! My first Quilt-A-Long, my first quilt with houses on it and my first Mystery quilt. You and your friends did a great job designing this quilt. I discovered you, Denise, through Judy who did a tutorial for the homequiltingsystems@yahoo.com group. I posted a picture in the Frame Friday album because your quilt is on my frame this week! Thanks again, donna
