wingspan

Wingspan is hot off the needles.  I started the bind off on the bus on the ride to work and finished the rest on the way home  Just needs the ends buried and to be blocked.  I love how it turned out.  Even tho this is fingering weight yarn, I followed the directions for worsted weight because I wanted to make more wings than the pattern called for but would have run out of yarn so my wedges are shorter in this version than the way the original pattern is written.  This one was made with Poems sock yarn.  It’s light as air and soft and there’s this black sweater that it will add some color to this winter.

I’ve changed my mind about the yarn I want to use for Dreambird yet again — the stuff I showed in my previous post – I’m just really not in love with but I think I will make a Wingspan out of it instead.  The Unisono knits up more like a sport weight and since I have lots of it – I can make the second Wingspan with  longer wedges and more of them.

So what will I use  for Dreambird?  Who knows! 🙂 I have yarn sitting in shopping carts at three different online stores.  I haven’t made a decision yet so will just continue to think about it until I finally go hit a “place order” button (or maybe three place order buttons!)     Also note that both Judy and I have the Dreambird Project listed in our blog sidebars.  It includes links to various info that we have blogged about which you may find helpful to refer to  if you are going to join in this project.  This way you don’t have to remember which of our blogs you saw it on — we will both have the same links which will send you to the proper blog post no matter which blog it is on.  That Judy, she’s very tricky – I never knew how to get those linked lists to show up in the sidebar and since we both use the same type of blog she could point me in the right direction (rather than leading me astray as she usually does).  LOL
