updated 5/12/-12 — I wasn’t distracted — but WordPress is really starting to annoy me!! It’s been having problems for a couple weeks – not showing photos and this time – not showing at all the entire blog post.
Anyway, as I was trying to say… it’s Camp Loopy time … which I would have missed the start of except Judy (you know her – we’re the charter members of the” Mutual Yarnlovers Yarn Enhancement Society” or for short “MY YES” which I think is what we say whenver a pretty yarn strikes our fancy — My Yes – must order that. ROFLOL Tho Judy recently showed her oh so newly organized yarn stash and I can safely say she’s way ahead of me but I’ll not strive to catch up – I don’t have that much storage space! :-) But – back to the point – she emailed me to ask if I was going to do Camp Loopy again this year. She didn’t think she was going to. I hadn’t seen that it was starting so checked it out.
I don’t know that I’ll get all three projects done but I’m going to give it a try again this year (can’t pass up those FSB discounts and double points and, if I manage to get them all done on time – there’s free yarn). Nothing better than a “camp” where you don’t have to sleep on the ground, fight of mosquitos, or roast in the heat — you can “camp” in your comfy chair, where hot showers and bathroom facilities are top notch and if it gets hot, just turn on the air!
First projects – in honor of the olympics – is to knit a project designed by someone in a country other than the one you are from. That’s easy – I had been wanting to make another Spectra scarf (Ravelry) and the designer is from the Netherllands. The only other requirement is your project must use at least 400 yards of yarn — again – Spectra does that. So I know what my project will be, the yarn for it is ordered, so I just have to wait for the yarn to arrive and the official start date of Camp to start knitting.
Oh, and I did wheedle at Judy just a little that didn’t she really want to come to camp with me???? She hasn’t said yes yet but she did say she had spent the afternoon looking at patterns so maybe I’ll have a “tent mate.” VBG
