After going out for breakfast a friend and I stopped by the Sow’s Ear – a coffee shop with a knitting shop combined in a nearby town that a quilting friend had visited. Such lovely yarns – you know I couldn’t walk out empty handed!
The yarn on the left is Trekking Maxima – for a lovely pair of socks. The rest is from BlackBerry Ridge Woolen Mill which is not far from here – called Grapes on the Vine. It will be for a shawl I think. Definitely a shop I will be visiting again – packed to the ceiling with yarns and samples knit up – great eye candy – and groups of knitters in the coffee shop knitting and having their coffees.
Picked up a few groceries and stopped next door at the beauty supply shop to get a perm – I can’t stand the flat hair anymore so will see if I’m ambitious enough to give myself a perm this afternoon. First I have to clean up the mess around here – quilt blocks on the living room floor – yarn on the couch, and general chaos everywhere.
I did finish the scarf I was working on. Just needs threads buried and a little blocking.
And the new Granny’s Hankie block is now available – I’ve got to play catch up and finish stitching the February block yet.
