Well I was going to make the “Circle Socks” pattern that Judy L and Judy D are both working on. I pulled out one Opal self-striping and knit 10-12 rows but it’s one of their “Surprise” line yarns and the striping sections are much farther apart so you wouldn’t get the great look that both Judys are getting so I set those aside to figure out something else for that yarn. Back into the Opal stash I dove and in the meantime started last night on a patttern called Sutton Spirit Socks — a simple sort of ribbed leg with just two rows to the pattern and so simple to remember and tell which row you need to do just by looking at your needles — love that kind of no mind pattern. The Opal I’m using is one of those from the line that is named for a singer? – I think she’s a singer but since I can’t read anything on the label I could be wrong - anyway it’s color 3171 and reminds me of chocolate covered cherries.
As for today’s stashbusting report — well I did use 2.25 yards for the backing and binding on the Stained Glass tablerunner so there was a little useage.
Went out for breakfast this a.m. with a friend – we braved the downpours. It drizzled all day yesterday but today – some serious rain coming down – especially whenever we were ready to get out of the car. A quick stop by Target after breakfast and now the rest of the day I think will be knitting and watching movies and listening to the rain. I really wanted to get a quilt layered this weekend I need to get quilted but I keep forgetting to stop for batting whenever I’m near the quilt shop — which is not real often.

Love the color! I’m amazed at how much you accomplish.
Another fabulous yarn! When I first saw the photo, I said YUM! Then I read chocolate covered cherries…double yum!! That’s a great pattern, think I might use that one next.
I personally don’t like choc. covered cherries but that’s definitely what the yarn reminds me of. I’m just about ready to start the first heel flap.
Lovely yarn – and interesting KNITTING STITCH! Would you share it with me please? I think it would be perfect with the yarn I’ve been staring at and wondering…. what kind of stitch to use on this pair??? Thanks! Linda G.
Just put the name of the sock pattern in a search engine and you should be able to find it.
I appreciate your putting the yarn in the picture. Thanks! It gives us newbies a little to work with.
your welcome – it’s normally in the socks in progress photos – just not in the finished sock photos since there’s so little left when I’m done.
